Uttar Pradesh government has decided to start geo-tagging of cattle.
Gorakhpur Municipal Commissioner Anjani Kumar Singh said that they have started geo-tagging of cattle as there were several complaints regarding traffic issues due to abandoned cattle wandering on roads.

Gorakhpur Municipal Commissioner Anjani Kumar Singh further added that now if a geo-tagged animal is found wandering on streets, they can identify the owner and penalize him for leaving his/her cattle free on roads. Geo-tagging will also help them to keep a count of cattle in the area, he said.
