Traffic was affected following water logging in several part of city due to heavy rainfall, causing inconvenience to citizen on the first working day of the week.
On Monday morning, water logging at Sion Road No. 24 and Gandhi Market in Matunga forced diversion of BEST buses, in Juhu, Amboli, Pant Nagar in Ghatkopar. Part of Powai, part of LBS at Kurla and Ghatkopar were also flooded due to which traffic was moving with slow pace.
According to the commuters, there was low visibility on both highways--Western Express Highway and Eastern Express Highway--which also added traffic snarls.

Operations at the Mumbai airport were suspended briefly on Monday morning due to heavy rains, which also forced the aerodrome operator to divert some flights to the nearby airports. Several flights were delayed, however, no flights were cancelled.
Runway operation were suspended at 9.12 am and later resumed at 9.31 am.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Konkan, Goa and north Madhya Maharashtra regions, including Mumbai, this week. Met officials attributed the heavy downpour to the cyclonic circulation persisting over south Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Flight operations were severely hit due to heavy rain and poor visibility at the Mumbai airport on Monday.
A Mumbai International Airport Ltd. spokesperson said that on account of fluctuating visibility issues, there were no flight movements.
Although there were no cancellations, at least three flights were diverted to other airports. Large parts of the city and suburbs, besides Palghar, Thane and Raigad, were lashed with heavy rain since early Monday morning.
While road traffic was affected with snarls at various locations, suburban trains were working normally.
