Is Republic 2.0 coming? A republic where secular India turns to a 'Hindu Rashtra'?

Is there a deliberate and conscious effort to create the Hindu Republic?

The logic is if Islamic republics can declare Islam to be its state religion why can't Hindu-majority India become a Hindu Republic?

The CAA is a foretaste of this change in the years and decades to come.

India has witnessed 17 parliamentary elections since 1952.

Society remained outside the control of the shifting fortunes of political parties.

But Modi's rise to power is not ordinary in the evolution of the Indian state.

It foretells a plan by the Sangh Parivar, the ideological family of the ruling party

The plan is to transform the Indian state into a Hindu state.

To change the Indian society into a Hindu majoritarian society and, finally, the Indian nation itself into a Hindu nation ('Hindu Rashtra').

Is this what Modi means by his promise of creating a 'New India'?

Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and other communities unitedly form India.

The national unity did not get negated even by India's tragic Partition.

But Muslims have never been made to feel so alien in their own land as now...

...And never has India witnessed Hindu triumphalism so open and aggressive.

Secularism, the soul of the constitution is under assault like never before.

The principle of secularism is being pushed back by 'Hindu First' principle.

PM Modi has never affirmed his commitment to secularism.

For Hindu right-wing secularism has been trashed to as 'sickularism',

Diminishing a community in the nation is the hidden agenda of the CAA and NRC.

This legislation discriminates citizens on the grounds of religion and thus violates Articles 14 and 15 of India's secular Constitution.

Government is asserting that India belongs more to Hindus than to Muslims.

This is the beginning of several more discriminatory laws and policies to come.

The politicisation of the Hindu religion will inflict enormous damage on multi-religious India.
