Former Vice President Hamid Ansari addresses opening session of ‘Sansad - The Youth Parliament 2020’

An event, ‘Sansad - The Youth Parliament 2020’ was organised at Jawahar Bhawan in New Delhi on January 18 and 19 with the motive of engaging the youth in the deeds of their professional benefits.

The opening ceremony of the event was addressed by chief guest Dr. Hamid Ansari, former Vice President of India. Ansari explained the meaning of Parliament in terms of panchayat. He talked about the roles and participation of the youth in the functioning of the democracy and discussed about the functions of Parliament in law making process of the nation.


He congratulated National Herald newspaper, the media partner of the event, and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Contemporary studies for sponsoring the event and making it a success.

Speaking at the event, Ankita Chauhan, founder president for SANSAD, said, “I kept the foundation of the event four years ago, and I’m very glad that we have successfully reached to its fourth edition, educating a lot of children on our way. And I plan to continue the same in the upcoming years.”

The event witnessed speakers like Saumaya Saxena, Swati Saxena, Krishna Alvaru, Rajesh Gowda and Shrinivas B.V. who had some enthusiastic and enlightening knowledge to pass on.
