During the bail plea hearing of Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad at Delhi’s Tis Hazari court, Judge Kamini Lau on Tuesday slammed public prosecutor heavily saying Bhim Army chief has a “constitutional right to protest.” “Who says you cannot protest… have you read the Constitution?” Lau asked the prosecutor.

Bhim Army Chief has been in jail since December 21 in connection with protests against Citizenship Amendment Act in Daryaganj area of Old Delhi..

“You are behaving as if Jama Masjid is in Pakistan. Even if it was Pakistan, you can go there and protest. Pakistan was a part of undivided India,” Judge Lau said, stressing that the citizens have a right to protest. When the prosecutor mentioned that prior permission was needed, Judge Lau countered it saying that the Supreme Court has repeatedly said that use of Section 144 is an “abuse.”

School bus attacked with crude bombs, 2 students hurt

In a first of its kind attack, crude bombs were hurled at a school bus in Prayagraj on Monday evening, leaving two students injured.

According to reports, the school bus was targeted when it was taking students of a public school back home in the afternoon. Huge sinkhole swallows bus, kills six in China

An enormous sinkhole swallowed a bus and pedestrians in China, sparking an explosion, killing six people and leaving 10 more missing, state media said Tuesday.

Footage showed people at a bus stop running from the collapsing road, as the bus -- jutting into the air -- sank halfway into the ground.

Several people disappeared into the sinkhole as it spread, including what appeared to be a child.

The incident, outside a hospital, also triggered an explosion inside the hole, video showed.

Search and rescue work was underway and the cause of the accident was under investigation, the state-run CCTV broadcaster said.
