Sara Ali Khan arrives in Mumbai ahead of NCB probe
Actor Sara Ali Khan, who has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, on Thursday arrived in the city from Goa.
The 25-year-old actor reached Mumbai with her mother, actor Amrita Singh and brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan around 5pm and headed to their suburban Juhu residence.
Khan made her acting debut opposite Rajput in the 2018 film "Kedarnath".

7 die in rain-related incidents in UP
Seven people died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, according to a statement on Thursday.
A person each died in lightning strikes in Ambedkar Nagar and Mau districts. Two died due to wall collapse in Ghazipur and one each in Pratapgarh and Sultanpur, a statement from the Relief Commissioner Office said
Another person died due to snakebite in Ghazipur, it added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the deaths and directed officials to provide assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the family of the deceased.
Adityanath directed officials to asses the damages caused in the districts due to rain and send a report to the government.
Advocate shot dead in Srinagar
Suspected terrorists shot dead an advocate at his residence in Srinagar on Thursday evening, officials said.
According to reports, Babar Qadri, an advocate who also appeared in TV debates, was shot by gunmen from close range at his residence at Hawal in downtown Srinagar.
Additional police teams have reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has begun to nab the assailants.

Farmer commits suicide in UP’s Fatehpur for not being able to repay loan
Upset over not being able to "repay" his loan, a farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place at Naraini village in the Kishanpur area.
The farmer, identified as Mahendra Savita (37), was found hanging from a tree around 9.30 am, Kishanpur SHO Pandhari Saroj said, adding that he had left his home in the morning to go to his fields.
According to his wife Ranno Devi's statement, Savita was upset as he could not repay his loan of Rs 60,000.

Congress MLA Narayan Rao succumbs to COVID-19 in Bengaluru
Congress MLA B Narayan Rao, who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus, passed away on Thursday, the hospital in Bengaluru where he was admitted said.
The 65-year-old Basavakalyan MLA from Bidar district in North Karnataka was admitted on September 1 after being diagnosed with severe COVID-19 infection, Manipal Hospital Director Dr Manish Rai said in a statement.
He passed away at 3.55 pm,it said.
Dr Rai said he was critically ill with multi-organ failure and on multiple supports including ventilator in the Intensive care unit under constant observation by an expert panel of doctors.
"We deeply regret the loss and express our condolences to his family and friends," he added.
Uttarakhand eases coronavirus norms for tourists
The Uttarakhand government has eased coronavirus norms for tourists, exempting them from producing a negative test report on arrival.
In a revised set of guidelines for tourists, Chief Secretary Om Prakash said it is not mandatory for them to bring coronavirus negative report before checking into a hotel or homestay.
Moreover, the requirement of a mandatory stay of a minimum two days in a hotel or homestay will also not be required anymore, he added.
Man buried alive in borewell
A 60-year-old man was on Thursday buried alive and another injured after the earth in a 45-feet deep borewell caved in here.
Ashraf (65) and Nandan Rajput (60) got trapped inside the borewell in Alaypur Peet Bholeshwar village following the incident, police said.

Kannada film comedian Rockline Sudhakar succumb to heart attack
Noted comedian in the Kannada film industry Rockline Sudhakar succumbed to cardiac arrest on Thursday during the shooting of a film, sources said.
His end came in a private hospital, according to former president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) Sa Ra Govindu.
Another office-bearer of the KFCC said the 65-year-old Sudhakar was shooting for 'Sugarless' at Bannerghatta here.
"He had gone to the makeup room where he suddenly collapsed. He was taken to the hospital where he died," the office-bearer told PTI
Sudhakar tested positive for COVID-19 a month ago and was hospitalised.
He resumed his work after he tested negative.
Islamic scholar P M Ibrahim Musliyar passes away
Noted Islamic scholar and Qazi of Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Shivamogga districts, Al HajP M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal passed away at a private hospital here on Thursday after a brief illness, family sources said.
He was 71 and is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
Ibrahim Musliyar Bekalhailed from Naringana in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.
Popularly known asBekal Ustad, he was the state president of Sunni Jamiyyatul UIlema and principal of Jamiya SaAdiya Arabic Shariyat college andchief editor of 'Al Ansar' magazine.
Musliar hadgraduated from the Deoband Arabiccollege and had served Soorinje and Bantwal Juma Masjids for twoyears each.
Hehad later served as 'Mudarris' (educator) of Bekal for 43 years and came to be known as Bekal Ustad.
Karnataka will not impose lockdown again
In a strong bid to scotch the rumour about the imposition of lockdown again, Karnataka Medical Education Minister, Dr. K. Sudhakar on Thursday said there was no proposal before the state government to reimpose lockdown.
Speaking to reporters here, Sudhakar clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did suggest imposing the lockdown, but it was not mandatory for anyone of the states which participated in Wednesday's interaction with him. "It was more of a suggestion from his side rather than a direction. Moreover, I do not see any reason to implement it in Karnataka," he explained.

Teacher held for raping 6-year-old
A Shiksha Mitra in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old student inside a primary school in Meerut district.
Circle officer of Mawana area, Uday Pratap Singh, said that a case of rape has been registered against the accused and appropriate sections of POCSO Act will also be invoked since the victim is a minor.
According to reports, the accused is a teacher (Shiksha Mitra) in a village primary school.
The incident came to light after the girl informed her family members on Tuesday and they, along with the villagers, rushed to the school and thrashed the accused.

Driest September in Delhi in 16 years, says IMD
Delhi recorded less than 21 mm rainfall in September, the lowest for the month in 16 years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Kuldeep Srivastava, the head of the IMD's regional forecasting centre, said Delhi has already recorded the last rainfall of the monsoon season and any precipitation is unlikely now.
The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for the city, has recorded just 20.9 mm rainfall against the normal of 109.3 mm this month a deficiency of 81 per cent, according to IMD data.

Former Odisha Minister and senior Congress leader Shaikh Matlub Ali passed away on Thursday, family sources said. He was 78.
Ali was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here after he complained of illness.

Global COVID-19 cases top 31.7 million
The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 31.7 million, while the deaths have increased to more than 975,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
As of Thursday morning, total number of cases stood at 31,787,190 and the fatalities rose to 975,038, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.
The US is the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 6,943,071 and 201,957, respectively, according to the CSSE.
India comes in the second place in terms of cases at 5,646,010, while the country's death toll soared to 90,020.
The other top 15 countries with the maximum amount of cases are Brazil (4,591,364), Russia (1,117,487), Colombia (784,268), Peru (776,546), Mexico (710,049), Spain (693,556), South Africa (665,188), Argentina (664,799), France (508,381), Chile (449,903), Iran (432,798), the UK (412,241), Bangladesh (353,844), Iraq (332,635) and Saudi Arabia (331,359), the CSSE figures showed.
Brazil currently accounts for the second highest number of fatalities at 138,105.
The countries with a death toll above 10,000 are Mexico (74,949), the UK (41,951), Italy (35,758), Peru (31,568), France (31,444), Spain (31,034), Iran (24,840), Colombia (24,746), Russia (19,720), South Africa (16,206), Argentina (14,376), Chile (12,345) and Ecuador (11,171).
