A Delhi court Thursday directed Tihar jail authorities to file a proper report by Friday about the status of scheduled execution of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora passed the directions after jail authorities informed that they have written to the Delhi government on the issue of scheduled execution on January 22 in view of pending remedies of the accused.

WATCH: Group of protesters created ruckus at Muslim Rashtriya Manch's event in Delhi, by showing banners and raising slogans against CAA, NRC

A group of protesters shouted anti-CAA slogans and created a ruckus at an event organised by the RSS-affiliated Muslim Rashtriya Manch on Thursday to drum up support for the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.

According to eyewitnesses, a few men started shouting slogans as RSS leader Indresh Kumar, the 'mentor' of MRM, took the stage.

Some of the protesters even tried to show anti-CAA posters by going up to the dais.

The protesters were immediately detained by the police and are being questioned.

The MRM alleged the protesters were "sent by Congress".

Speaking at the event, Kumar batted for the CAA and blamed the Congress for the Partition of India. "Today, Indian Muslims don't want to go to Pakistan. Those who want to go are of 'Shaitan' mentality," he said.

Terrace collapses in Delhi's Mukundpur, two injured

Two people were injured after the terrace of a house collapsed in Delhi's Mukundpur area on Thursday, a Delhi Fire Service official said.

The fire department received a call about the collapse at around 12.44 pm after which two fire tenders were rushed to spot, they said.

ED summons Air Asia executives, CEO Fernandes in PMLA case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned senior executives of Air Asia including CEO Tony Fernandes for questioning in connection with a money laundering case, officials said on Thursday.

The agency had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against the airline and its officials in 2018.

Officials said while Fernandes has been summoned on January 20, few others have also been asked to depose for questioning in the following days.

The fresh summons have been issued to take the probe forward, officials said.
