LIVE News Updates: Central govt re-appointed BP Kanungo as Deputy Governor, RBI for a further period of 1 year

The Central Government has re-appointed B. P. Kanungo as Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a further period of one year with effect from April 3, 2020, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, upon completion of his existing term on April 2, 2020: RBI.

At least 19 people, including 18 firefighters, were killed while battling a forest fire in southwest China''s Sichuan Province, state-run media reported on Tuesday.

The fire started on a local farm at 3.51 pm on Monday and quickly spread to the nearby mountains due to the strong winds, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Those killed include 18 firefighters and a local forest farm worker who led the way for the firefighters. They were trapped in the fire due to a sudden change in the wind direction, the report said.

Over 300 professional firefighters and 700 militiamen were sent to help, the report said, adding that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Almost a year ago in the same province, at least 30 people, including 27 firefighters, were killed while battling a huge forest fire in the remote mountains in southwest China''s Sichuan province.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's nephew and body builder Abdullah Khan passed away at a hospital here due to "heart ailments", a source close to the family said. He was 38.

Abdullah died on Monday evening at city-based Lilavati Hospital, Matin Khan, Abdullah's uncle said.

"He passed away last evening at Lilavati Hospital due to heart ailments. The last rites will be performed in Indore as Abdullah's parents live there. We are taking his body by road to Indore," Matin told PTI.

Abdullah was Salman's paternal cousin's son.

Salman took to Twitter to remember his nephew.

The "Dabangg 3" actor shared a picture of him posing with Abdullah and captioned it as, "Will always love you..."
