West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee - who along with Chief Ministers of three states - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala - supported Delhi CM Minister Kejriwal on the issue of “bureaucratic impasse” in Delhi, told media that she had discussed the issue with PM Modi during NITI Aayog meet on Sunday. However, it remained unclear what PM told.

After the meet, Banerjee said “I along with the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala have requested PM Modi to resolve the problems of Delhi government immediately.”

By aligning with the AAP, Chief Ministers of four non-BJP ruled states have mounted the pressure on the Modi government.

Calling it an attack in the federal structure of the republic, many leaders from the opposition parties have supported Kejriwal. DMK leader, MK Stalin too has tweeted in favor of Kejriwal.

Accompanied by the Delhi Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, four chief ministers have visited Kejriwal’s residence, where they met his wife and other members of his family on Saturday.

They also have requested Delhi LG, Anil Baijal for granting permission to meet Kejriwal but their request was turned down.

Miffed with the growing support for Kejriwal, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy hit out at Mamata Banerjee, N Chandrababu Naidu, HD Kumaraswamy and Pinarayi Vijayan. Calling Kejriwal a born Naxalite, Swamy said, “Kejriwal stole the Anti-corruption campaign that I had launched during the 2G spectrum. He is a born Naxalite. Why should they (the four CMs) support him?”

Kejriwal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Cabinet ministers Satyendar Jain and Gopal Rai, is camping at Raj Niwas since Monday demanding a direction to the IAS officers working in the Delhi administration to end their undeclared strike.

Meanwhile, AAP which directly attacks PM Modi for the bureaucratic impasse in Delhi said that AAP workers and leaders will go on to protest in front of Modi’s residence as per the earlier plan. However, due to security concerns, metro gates near PM house have been closed in advance.
