Punjab lost its four sons in the barbaric terror attack on a convoy of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Pulwama on Thursday that has sent shock waves across the globe. The neighbouring Himachal Pradesh also felt pain with its one 'son' martyred in the brutal act along with over 45 others.

The victims have been identified as Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Rauli village of Anadpur Sahib (Ropar), Jaimal Singh of Kot-ise-Khan village (Moga), Sukhjinder Singh of Gandiwind village (Tarn Taran) and Maninder Singh Attri, a resident of Aryan Nagar in Dinanagar (Gurdaspur) all from Punjab and Tilak Raj, a resident of Dhewa village in Jwali (Kangra) of Himachal Pradesh.

The Punjab and Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabhas were adjourned for the day and the houses mourned the terrorist attack in which over 45 CRPF jawans were martyred. A two–minute silence as also observed to pay homage to the departed soul.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh moved a resolution in this context and it was unanimously passed in the House.  Capt Amarinder Singh also warned Pakistan Army Chief Lt. Gen. Qamar Bajwa, saying that India was capable of giving a befitting reply to the terror attack. He, however, expected that the attack would not hamper the ongoing talks on the Kartarpur corridor between both the countries.

The CM also said the families of the Pulwama terror attack victims would be given compensation as per the state government rules. He said four CRPF jawans from Punjab had been identified so far among the martyred.

Amarinder Singh also took to the twitter and wrote: “My sincerest condolences to the families of the CRPF men, including four from Punjab, who were killed in the barbaric Pulwama attack. I also pray for the quick recovery of those injured.”

“Centre should give befitting reply to Pakistan Army & ISI, who are clearly behind the Pulwama attack on our CRPF Jawans. Punjab Vidhan Sabha unanimously condemned the attack today & passed a resolution that the sacrifice of our martyred soldiers should not go in vain.”

Mourning the death of Tilak Raj, the Himachal Pradesh cabinet also observed a two–minute silence to pay homage to martyr Tilak Raj.

A deep gloom has descended in native villages of the martyrs in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The aggrieved family members awaiting the mortal remains of the bodies for the last rites demanded a befitting reply to the terrorists.
