On a day the Congress launched a fierce attack on the Modi government over the contentious farm laws ever since farm protest broke out by hitting the street, and thousands of Congress activists were detained by the police including Priyanka Gandhi, former party head Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi – an incompetent man.

Accompanied by senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Rahul who was stopped by Delhi police from meeting the president said that Modi is running the system at the behest of his cronies.

“We have an incompetent man who does not understand anything and running a system on the behalf of 3 or 4 other people who understand everything,” said Rahul Gandhi after his meeting with the president.

He handed President Ram Nath Kovind over 2 crore signatures of farmers collected by the Congress from across the country against the farm laws.

“I told the President that these farm laws are anti-farmer. The country has seen that farmers have stood up against these laws,” said Rahul while speaking to reporters.

“PM Modi is making money for the crony capitalists. Whoever tries to stand against him will be called terrorist - be it farmers, labourers and even Mohan Bhagwat,” said Rahul.

Asking the BJP led NDA government to call a joint session of parliament, Rahul said, “I want to tell the PM that these farmers are not going to go back home until these farm laws are repealed. The Government should convene a joint session of Parliament and take back these laws. Opposition parties stand with farmers and labourers.”

In a reply to a question on Delhi Police taking Congress leaders into custody during their march to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Rahul Gandhi said, “There is no democracy in India. It can be in your imagination, but not in reality”.
