Commenting on Home Minister Amit Shah's statement that the central government has not detained Farooq Abdullah, National Conference leader on Tuesday clarified that the leaders have been placed in house arrest.

"I was detained in my house, feel sad that Home Minister can lie like this"," Abdullah told NDTV.

"I am not allowed to come out of my House. DSP has been placed outside my house. We have been placed under House Arrest," he said.


Reacting over Modi government's decision on Article 370, NC patron said that the decision is unconstitutional.

"We don't want to get separated from the country. But we want honour, give us dignity," he added.

"They divided regions, will they divide hearts too? Will they divide Hindus and Muslims? I thought my India was for all, everyone who believes in secular, unity,” reported NDTV.

“As soon as the gate will open & our people will be out, we will fight, we'll go to the court. We're not gun-runners, grenade-throwers, stone-throwers, we believe in peaceful resolutions. They want to murder us. My son (Omar Abdullah) is in jail.”
