A media advisor to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has retweeted a ‘fact check’ which claimed that a viral video in which Adityanath allegedly used an expletive against a news agency cameraperson was doctored.

The video first emerged in a tweet by retired IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh, who posted in Hindi, "This is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's real face...Listen to the language of a saint".

The tweet created a storm within an hour, getting 10K likes and being retweeted over 5K times.

The Uttar Pradesh CM took the first dose of Covid vaccine on Monday morning at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil Hospital), administered by staff nurse Rashmi Singh.

Later, while talking to ANI, he was speaking about the achievements of Indian scientists in developing the vaccine when the camera man was heard talking to someone, which is when Adityanath allegedly used a Hindi expletive.

“Such a word coming from Chief Minister’s mouth against media is highly objectionable. This word should also wake up the journalists who have developed jelly in their spines and have stopped questioning the CM,” Surya Pratap Singh told this reporter. He, however, refused to reveal as how he got the video.

UP Congress media convener Lalan Kumar tweeted, “Listen to the ‘Amrit Vachan’ of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath” while Samajwadi Party spokesman I P Singh in his tweet ‘thanked’ the UP Chief Minister for “bringing glory to the sant samaj for using such language”.

The UP Chief Minister's media advisor Shalabh Mani Tripathi retweeted a 'fact check' report by a website called "Breaking Tube" that claimed the last three seconds of the clip, when the Chief Minister appears to blurt out the abuse, was doctored.

In his address after taking the vaccine, the CM said: “The vaccine is completely safe. We all should take it when our turn comes. I also appeal to the people to take all precautions even after taking the vaccine. The new COVID wave is the result of our complacency in observing COVID appropriate behaviour.”
