Labour rights activist Nodeep Kaur (23) who was released on bail on Friday following an order by the Punjab & Haryana High Court has said she will visit the Singhu border near Delhi where farmers have been protesting against the Centre's farm laws for three months.

"I will discuss with my family what to do next. I will definitely go to Singhu, sit with farmers. I have not done anything illegal in the past and will not do anything illegal in the future and will always stand for the people," she was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Nodeep Kaur was arrested on January 12 by Haryana Police during a protest by workers outside a factory on the outskirts of Delhi.

Kaur was granted bail in two cases lodged against her earlier. However, she continued to remain in jail in view of her arrest under a third case alleging offences under Section 307 (attempt to murder), Section 146 (rioting), and Section 353 (assault to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bail was granted to her by the court upon a prima facie observation that there was nothing to substantiate the allegations of attempt to murder levelled against Kaur, among other reasons.

The High Court had also registered a suo motu case following complaints over her "illegal confinement".

Kaur’s arrest had triggered a storm of criticism with supporters alleging that she was sexually assaulted and tortured in custody, which has been denied by the police.
