France Health Minister, Agnes Buzyn confirmed first Novel Coronavirus death, the 80-year-old deceased died at a hospital in Paris on Friday. He was a Chinese tourist, a report in The New York Times cited.

The man, who was from the Chinese province of Hubei, the center of the outbreak, arrived in France on Jan. 16 and had been hospitalized at the Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital since Jan. 25, said France Health Miniter.


The New York Times quoted Buzyn as saying “His condition had quickly worsened and he had been in critical condition for several days.”

According to The New York Times, the Health Minister didi not disclose the name of the deceased.

The man’s daughter also has the Novel Coronavirus and was also hospitalized in Paris, Buzyn said, adding that she should be discharged soon, The New York Times reported.
