About 1,714 cases of human trafficking were registered by the government's anti-human trafficking units in 2020 with sexual exploitation for prostitution, forced labour and domestic servitude being the top reasons behind it, according to the NCRB data.

35,662 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours

According to the Union Health Ministry, India reported 35,662 new Covid cases and 33,798 recoveries in the last 24 hours, reported ANI. This takes the number of active cases to 3,40,639 and the total recoveries to 3,26,32,222. India also administered the highest-ever single day vaccinations with 2.5 crore doses given in the last 24 hours.
