Amidst the dissent over CAA, UIDAI notices to 127 people have aggrevated the fear of losing citizenship.

One such notice issued by Aadhaar authority UIDAI to a resident asking him to prove nationality will be challenged in court.

Like 127 others, resident of Hyderabad, Sattar Khan was asked to prove his nationality by UIDAI.

The notice will be challenged in Telangana High Court, said city-based advocate Mohammed Sohail Malik.

Malik has asked Aadhaar authority to drop this proceeding.

If it's not done it will be challenged in the Telangana High Court.

Sattar Khan received a notice from Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) stating that he received an Aadhaar card by submitting false documents.

UIDAI has stated that they have received some complaint that Sattar received an Aadhaar card by submitting false documents.

They have asked him to submit his documents again to prove his nationality.

Aadhaar authority UIDAI has issued such notices to 127 people in Hyderabad.

Sattar Khan said, "I was born in Sanath Nagar area of Hyderabad and my father used to work as a government employee and later shifted to Talab Katta area."

"I have received a notice asking to prove my nationality by the authorities...

... I was scared and approached lawyer Sohail Malik. My father was also born here in Himayatsagar," he added.

The UIDAI clarified that notices served over Aadhaar  are "not being presented in the correct perspective".

UIDAI notices of inquiry to 127 residents  for obtaining Aadhaar on false pretence has created panic among people.

The notices were served on the complaints from the state police, who suspect them of being illegal immigrants.

UIDAI clarifies that these reports do not intend to identify illegal immigrants.

According to UIDAI, Aadhaar has got nothing to do with the citizenship issue as such.

The whole exercise has sparked a new controversy over the citizenship row.
