Four people died on Tuesday in Odisha's Bhadrak district after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.
They had allegedly consumed the spurious liquor on Monday night at a post-election feast in Daulatpur village under Tihidi block.
Around 15 others have been admitted to hospital after they complained of vomiting and nausea. While some have been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, others are under treatment in the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital.

The Sri Lankan police on Tuesday announced that three suspects were arrested along with a van connected to the devastating Easter Sunday bombings from the country's North Central Province.
The suspicious van was wanted over the terror attacks and was taken into custody at Sungavila in Polonnaruwa town, Ruwan Gunasekara, police spokesperson, said.
They said the van which bears the licence plate 'EP PX 2399' was taken into custody along with the three suspects.

Senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani was admitted to hospital on Tuesday following acute intestinal infection, family sources said.
Nayeem Geelani, son of the octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani, said that his father was admitted to the super specialty Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar city following a complaint of severe abdominal pain.
"Doctors have put him on antibiotics for the intestinal infection. He will remain in the hospital till the infection is taken care of," Nayeem Geelani said. For most of the time during the last four years, authorities have kept Geelani under house arrest in his uptown Hyderpora residence in Srinagar to prevent his participation in separatist called protests.

The Sri Lankan government on Tuesday lifted a nationwide social media ban imposed to curb the spread of misinformation after the devastating Easter Sunday bombings that killed 253 people.
According to the information department, President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) to lift the ban on Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and other popular platforms from April 30.

A PhD scholar is among six terrorists arrested in connection with the blast in a car in March on Jammu-Srinagar highway, when a convoy of the CRPF was passing, the police said. According to the police the case which reminded of the February 14 Pulwama attack has been solved.
The police, however has ruled out any link between the Banihal car blast and the Pulwama attack.

A coach of Hamsafar Express on Tuesday derailed near the Assam-Tripura border, an NF Railway official said.
Nobody was injured when a pair of wheels of the 12504 Hamsafar Express from Agartala to Bengaluru derailed between Churaibari and Kalkalighat stations at around 8.15 am, he said.

With the death of two more Chinese nationals, the number of foreigners who died in the massive Easter Sunday bombings on Monday rose to 42, including 11 Indians, according to the Sri Lankan foreign ministry.
Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said that as of Monday April 29, the number of foreign nationals who have been killed in the attack rose to 42.

Ness Wadia, son of industrialist Nusli Wadia and inheritor of one of Indias wealthiest business families, has been sentenced for drugs possession while on a skiing holiday to Japan.
Financial Times has reported that Ness Wadia, heir to the 283-year-old Wadia Group and co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab cricket team, was arrested in early March at New Chitose Airport in the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has assured hoteliers that the government will give them maximum financial relief to revive the lucrative tourism industry hit by the country's worst terror attack on Easter Sunday that killed 253 people, including 40 foreigners.

The Indian Army has claimed that an expedition team sighted the "mysterious Footprints of mythical beast 'Yeti'" at the Makalu Base Camp in the Himalayas.
"For the first time, an #IndianArmy Mountaineering Expedition Team has sited mysterious footprints of mythical beast 'Yeti' measuring 32x15 inches close to Makalu Base Camp on April 9, 2019," the Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information tweeted late on Monday.
"This elusive snowman has only been sighted at Makalu-Barun National Park in the past," it added. The Makalu-Barun National Park is located in Nepal's Limbuwan Himalayan region. It is the world's only protected area with an elevation gain of more than 26,000 ft enclosing tropical forest as well as snow-capped peaks.
The Yeti is an ape-like creature, much taller and bigger than an average human. It is covered in thick fur and is believed to inhabit the Himalayas, Siberia, Central and East Asia. The creature is generally regarded as a legend since there is no solid proof of its existence.

A woman suffered serious injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Khushipur village in Muzaffarnagar, the police said on Tuesday.
According to circle officer Ram Mohan Sharma, the incident occurred when the victim, Shakila was cooking food in her home.
The fire triggered by the blast killed a buffalo and destroyed currency notes worth Rs 45000, he added.

The BSE benchmark Sensex Tuesday plunged over 150 points to slip below the 39,000-mark in early trade amid capital outflows by foreign funds and mixed global cues.
However, a strengthening rupee and global crude oil prices restricted further losses in equity markets, brokers said.
The 30-share index dropped 154.60 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 38,912.73 in early morning trade, after touching a high of 39,068.67. Similarly, the NSE Nifty declined by 19.75 points, or 0.44 per cent, to 11,703.30.

The rupee appreciated by 32 paise to 69.70 against the US dollar in opening trade Tuesday, amid easing crude prices and weakening of the greenback vis-a-vis some currencies overseas.
The rupee opened strong at 69.83 at the interbank forex market, then gained further ground to touch 69.70 per dollar, displaying gains of 32 paise against the greenback over its previous close.

Indian Naval ships at Visakhapatnam and Chennai are on stand-by to proceed to the most affected areas to undertake Humanitarian Aid Distress Relief (HADR), evacuation, logistic support including providing medical aid.
These ships are embarked with additional divers, doctors, inflatable rubber boats and relief material that include food, tents, clothes, medicines and blankets.
