Former Army Chief-turned-politician VK Singh was found struggling to strike the right posture atop the Great Wall of China on eve of the International Yoga Day. A picture tweeted by Press Trust of India (PTI) shows that the minister’s fitness level can at best be called poor. Some Twitter followers expressed their surprise at the poor fitness of the former general.

Surrounded by Yoga lovers, the minister clearly looks the least fit of the lot. While he is seen closing his eyes in the picture, he has folded his legs casually. He was performing “Sukhasan” which is considered easiest among all asans. Wearing a track pant/sport pyjama, and a T-Shirt, VK Singh seems totally uninterested in performing his “duty” of brand ambassador of Yoga.

Embassy of India in Beijing has tweeted several pictures and a video of the Minister doing yoga at the GWC.

As per a media report, VK Singh delivered a brief speech after the Yoga session. He echoed PM Modi in saying that yoga was a gift to the world from India. The event was jointly organised by the Embassy of India, Beijing, Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Yogi Yoga, a popular Yoga school in China.

Indian media reported that along with the minister, 200 Chinese and 20 Indian Yoga ambassadors from the Morarji Desai Institute also participated in the practice session.

Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs VK Singh also inaugurated the first India-China Yoga College at Yunnan Minzu University in Kunming, China.
