On Wednesday, the government confirmed that new currency notes of ₹200 and ₹50 are being issued by the Reserve Bank of India. Since then, images of the new notes have gone viral on the internet. The new ₹200 note has already been introduced on Friday and ₹50 notes in a fluorescent blue will follow shortly. But on Thursday a flutter was created when a new note of ₹50 was reportedly seen in the possession of a man in Mumbai even before the currency note was formally issued.

The motif of Sanchi Stupa is on the bright yellow ₹200 notes while the motif of Hampi with chariot is featured on the currency note of ₹50.

Some also suggested RBI should come up with ₹11,₹21 and ₹101 notes as it would be a big help for people who are looking for these exact amounts considered auspicious as “Shagun” amounts.
