Fresh from the success of Bala in which the balding protagonist’s journey to self-acceptance has been highlighted, Ayushmann Khurrana has given a powerhouse speech on what a gentleman is. Representing a men’s grooming company ‘Man Company’ Aushmann Khurrana shared a 3-minute video in which he breaks all the stereotypes associated with men; that men don’t cry, men are saviours, men don’t cook etc.

He refers to his own life and aspirations telling that he wanted to a man who is true to himself, one who can sing and cry and if he can, save someone too. He mentions homosexuality too and says a man can like anything from the colour pink to the rock band Pink Floyd.

Called ‘What Makes A Gentleman’, the video shows the actor talking about his idea of a perfect man which has kept the gentleman in him alive and strong.

The video was hailed on social media platforms as one being out of the box and breaking the age-old notions about masculinity in a patriarchal society. As in one film after another Ayushmann Khurrana in the video too very spontaneously breaks away from the beaten track and talks emotionally about what it is being a gentleman. The versatile actor once again has won the hearts and established himself as an original creative and liberal person for whom being ‘soft’ doesn’t contradict his masculinity rather strengthens it. Here are some Twitter reactions appreciating Ayushmann’s heartfelt rendering:
