Usha Jadhav's Marathi film Mai Ghat: Crime No 103/2005 and Malayalam film Jallikattu are the two films that will be competing with  13 other international films for the Golden Peacock award at the 50th Indian International Film Festival of India.

Usha, who has won the national award for her Marathi film Dhag is all thrilled that only two Indian films from Panorama section have been selected for Golden Peacock award.

Speaking about the honour her film has got this year, Usha said, “I am extremely happy. It was a very challenging role for me. Its my first biopic. First time I am playing a real life character. It was tough and prosthetic for my old age look would take at least three hours. It is an achievement for us to be selected with the other 13 international films makes me proud.”

Mai Ghat is a true story of a mother's fight for justice after her son was killed in police custody.

Usha was recently seen in Aruna Raje's Firebrand in which she played a lawyer and is currently working on two international films and one such project is by Ventura Pons in which Usha plays an Indian girl and is a song and dance film. She has even sung a song in the film.
