Aamir Khan has announced the release date of his next film Laal Singh Chaddha as Christmas of 2020. Christmas has been Aamir Khan's favourite date for several years barring Thugs of Hindostan which released on Diwali last year and tanked big time.
The actor has gone back to his favourite date for his Hollywood remake of Forest Gump.
But the fear of clash with Aamir Khan isnt really there anymore. Some of the other films that are eyeing that date are Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 4 which is likely to go on floor in the second half of this year, Ranbir Kapoor-Ajay Devgn starrer that will go on floor in January 2020 and Karan Johar too had announced that Takht with Ranveer Singh has been planned for Christmas 2020.
Though the release dates of all these four films have been taken or announced but not one of them has gone of floor. So why do filmmakers do this all the time. Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “One cannot help it and two films clashes has been occurring for some time now so I am not really surprised that more than two films are releasing on the same day. All top producers and actors want the best release dates for their films. They want quick recovery for their big films so all look for the best week for the release.
The only issue I feel is if two good films release on the same day they are bound to eat into each other's business. But if one if good and the other one is bad though there is advantage but the film that is badly made gets hugely hit. He further adds, “Raees and Kaabil released on the same and did good business but the businesses could've been better had they released on different dates.''
