A TV actress Sejal Sharma, 26, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her rented house on Friday in Thane, Maharashtra. On the tragic incident, Kashimira police have registered a case of accidental death and taken a friend and room-mate into custody for questioning, according to The Times of India.

A suicide note found on her stated that nobody should be blamed for her suicide. The Times of India quoted the police as saying that the cause of the death is being investigated.

The actress was known for her work in the Star Plus show "Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji" as Siimi Khosla and also appeared in a few commercials. She worked in a famous web series called "Azad Parindey".

Sejal Sharma's Co-stars in "Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji" are in shock, Aru K Verma , told The Times of India, "Yes, this is true. I am shocked to hear the news. It's very difficult for me to believe since I met her just 10 days ago and we even chatted on WhatsApp on Sunday. I am unable to come to terms with the news. When I met her 10 days back, she was absolutely fine,"

He added, "Her family discovered the news today morning, but I think she committed suicide yesterday night. Her family has taken the body to Udaipur for her last rites."


Sejal Sharma, hailed from Udaipur, came to Mumbai in 2017 to pursue a career in acting was living on rent. Before her debut on the Star Plus show "Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji",

Her friends said on condition of anonymity that Sejal was suffering from depression after her television show came to an end. It began in January 2019 and abruptly ended in August. She was looking for work but nothing had come her way, sources said.
