Women’s safety across Delhi NCR is one of the pertinent issues which has unfortunately never seen the required action taken to make women of the city feel safe and secure. Encouraging citizens not to be ‘mute spectators’ but step forward to take matters into their own hands, 92.7 BIG FM’s campaign Dilli Ke Dhaakad’ concluded on the right note. The radio station has been one that has always stood up for the causes that deeply affect the lives of its listeners, including women. In their bid to make a difference to society, they reached out and alerted listeners on the issue of women’s safety across Delhi NCR by hosting a 24-hour live show ‘24 Ghante Surakshit’ in Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

RJ Richa Anirudh, who was the face of the campaign along with RJ Khurafati Nitin, RJ Jassi, RJ Simran and RJ Yogi, interacted and engaged with the key authorities of Delhi who came forward to support the issue which has been affecting the lives of so many women in Delhi NCR. Present on the occasion were well known names including Swati Maliwal, Chairperson Delhi Woman Commission, President and CEO Breakthrough Sohini Bhattacharya, Renowned Marathon Runner Mihika Gupta,  the DCP Central and PRO Delhi Police Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP South West Devender Arya, DCP North Monica Bharadwaj, DCP North West Vijayanta Arya, Sonia Sarkar, Communication Head  UNICEF and many change makers of the society. The event also witnessed powerful performance by Delhi’s very own musical artist Azam Khan.


Commenting on the great campaign led by BIG FM, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi said, “I would like to congratulate BIG FM for initiating the much-needed campaign. The way they have created a common ground and brought together the authorities, police and common man is incredible. I would like to urge each member of the society to come forward whenever they see someone misbehaving with women. I assure you, this action will inspire others to collaboratively make Delhi safe.”

Commenting on the experience of leading this campaign and achievements, Radio host and anchor of ‘Zindagi with Richa’, Richa Anirudh said, “It’s been an amazing journey. The kind of dedication which everyone showed and how they stood out to be a real ‘Dhaakad’ is simply inspiring. I am glad to see that so many people came to support the initiative.”

The radio station, with the noble intent to ensure women’s safety across Delhi NCR, brought everyone under one roof. The three-month campaign, which started with an informal conversation around women not feeling safe in the city, received great support from respected authorities and many celebrities from entertainment industry. Also, the radio station did on-ground reality checks, hosted an engaging panel discussion and a 12-hour live night show to understand the real challenges in a better manner and seek solutions to address the concerns effectively.
