Deepika Padukone to play Sridevi in Boney’s Chaalbaaz?

Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor is keen on remaking Sridevi's Chaalbaaz and apparently wants Deepika Padukone to play her role in it.

According to sources, Farah Khan will direct the project. If this does happen then it will be Deepika’s third film with Farah Khan who directed her first film Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year.

It is also learnt that Deepika has also been keen to be part of Chaalbaaz remake. Boney has reportedly registered about 20 titles which are the titles of Sridevi's films including Chaalbaaz, Roop Ki Raani Choron Ka Raja, Jaanbaaz and Mr India.

Earlier, Hansal Mehta had said that he would make a biopic on Sridevi, and Vidya Balan was the actress in her mind to play the character.

“I will always regret that I didn't approach her and could not make a movie with her. But I will make a film on her. There are actors (who I have in my mind). I might approach Vidya Balan. I will make the film,” IANS had quoted Mehta as saying.

Chaalbaaz was a 1989 comedy in which Sridevi played a double role written by Rajesh Mazumdar and Kamlesh Pandey the film was directed by Pankaj Parashar. Now it remains to be seen if this project goes on floor soon.
