Despite some bad reviews, David Dhawan’s entertainer Judwaa 2 registered an opening day collection of ₹16.10 crore at the Indian box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of the early shows :

In its two-and-a-half-hour run-time the film has nothing new to offer. Judwaa 2 is an old trash in a new painted sack.

The entire film is a straight lift from Judwaa including two of its hit numbers, Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara and Oonchi Hai Building.

According to NDTV, Salman isn't the only one Varun tries to borrow from. He keeps falling back on a hastily mimicked Shah Rukh line and stutter, and there are times where he tries to make a blank face like Govinda used to, so memorably, only to look unfunnily vacant. The other problem Varun and this film face, of course, is that the Khans are still very much around. Salman shows up in Judwaa 2 as well, tight tee-shirt and everything, and, even twenty years later, puts this unnecessary remake in its place. All we have here is a weak cover version.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it is presented by Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
