Shubh Mangal Savdhan, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar has released on Friday. Shubh Mangal Savdhan had a low opening of 10-15 per cent which is expected for a film with no popular faces but it is slightly better than Bareilly Ki Barfi as occupancy is same but Shubh Mangal Savdhan has a wider release so it could do a slightly higher number than Bareilly Ki Barfi but it won’t be much, reported Box office India.

The story is about a boy Mudit Sharma, (Ayushmann Khurrana) who gets engaged to a girl, Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar). It is going to be an arranged marriage and the extended families of both are looking forward to it. However, due to erectile dysfunction, Mudit can’t get it up and on the advice of his friends tries out various quacks treating impotency.

According to Ndtv, nobody so much as utters ‘erectile dysfunction’, or ‘impotence’, in Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, a cockeyed take on a problem that is no laughing matter. The film’s male protagonist isn’t up to the challenge of going the whole hog in bed. His battle with his dodgy libido is euphemistically referred to as “gent’s problem”: very much in keeping with the Delhi NCR middle-class socio-cultural milieu of the story.

Prasanna is aided by the lead pair - Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, both bright and boundlessly energetic - as well as a wonderful supporting cast (Seema Pahwa, Brijendra Kala Chitranjan Tripathy, Neeraj Sood). Together they ensure that the dual glue of earthy humour and believable situations prevents the ticklish central concept from falling apart. Well, it is expected that Eid holiday may increase the business of the film.

Baadshaho’s decent start

Baadshaho had a decent start of around on Friday. The film features Ajay Devgn and Ileana in the lead role

Directed by Milan Luthria, the movie is based in the times of Emergency in India in 1975. It follows a group of thugs who decide to loot the gold confiscated from Rani Gitanjali, and being transported to Delhi by road. Maharani Gitanjali from one of the Rajasthan’s Princely States has already lost her privy purse.

The Film lacks the meat to lend the onscreen derring-do real muscle and hold all the flab in place. What's worse is that at the end of the sound and fury that the film generates, Baadshaho has no climax worth the name. It ends, just like that. Seriously. We rarely, if ever, see a Bollywood action flick fizzle out so tamely. It's either a radical departure from norm or plain daft: make what you will of it.

Baadshaho is expected to do well in the coming days.

Mystery drama Rukh, featuring Manoj Bajpayee, is all set to hit the screens pan-India on October 27.

The movie marks the directorial debut of Atanu Mukherjee, which narrates the journey of a boy rediscovering his lost connections and familial ties, through the secrets and memories he must confront on his way.

Rukh is an intimate portrait of a family in flux, inspired from a few real life events and characters. It deals with themes we can all relate to.

“I’m really happy that I have got to make my debut film with such a talented team and looking forward to the release of the film,” Mukherjee said in a release.

Apart from Bajpayee, Rukh also features Adarsh Gourav, Smita Tambe and Kumud Mishra.

The movie has been produced by Manish Mundra’s Drishyam Films, for which Amit Trivedi has composed the music. The film was a part of the inaugural Drishyam-Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab 2015 and a part of Film Bazaar Recommends 2016.
