Sucheta Pal becomes the first Indian to be the Zumba Global Brand Ambassador. Celebrating the occasion Sucheta and her mentor Miami-based Zumba international presenter Maria Browning started their eight-city tour in India on Wednesday.

Sucheta Pal is an International Zumba Education specialist and one of the few selected Master Trainers for Zumba in the world.

The main aim of the tour is to share the Zumba moves and techniques with Indian fitness enthusiasts before heading off to the Annual Zumba convention in Orlando, US.

Suchita Pal also shared a poster of her tour on Twitter.

After Mumbai, the duo will travel to Kochi, Goa, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Kolkata, Pune and stop in Bengaluru on July 9. They will be joined by Zumba Education Specialist Shwetambari Shetty.

Two instructors from Bengaluru, Namrata and Jyothika will host the tour.

“The phenomenal growth of Zumba in India in the last five years is because of a 4,000 strong Zumba instructor community trained by Sucheta and her team and I'm elated to celebrate this growth with Sucheta and her mentor Maria,” Namrata, who is hosting the tour with Jyothika, said in a statement.

Jyothika said it is a treat for people who would participate in the grand Zumba event.

It involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Approximately 15 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 200,000 locations across 180 countries.
