Ranu Mondal: A local train singer is new singing sensation on social media, bags talent show offers

Internet is now the way to get instant stardom. A new video is getting viral in which a woman is singing a popular Hindi film song, ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai..’. The woman is identified as Ranu Mondal who makes her living by singing in the local trains and railway stations. The video was shot at Ranaghat railway station in West Bengal.

The videos has been watched over 5 million times and and has been shared over 5000 times on different social media platforms.

Mondal was born in Krishnanagar in West Bengal. She was raised by her aunt as she lost her mother at an early age.


As her ‘singing’ video went viral, several pictures of Ranu with complete makeover started flooding the social media. She is now reportedly getting offers from TV talent shows around the country.

The local Block Development officer has also planned to felicitate her in West Bengal government’s Kanyashree Divas celebrations on August 14.

Mondal is also getting offers to sing from various places like Mumbai, Kerala and even from Bangladesh.
