Will Wonder Woman 1984 revive the Indian moviegoers’ habit of going to movie theatres this Christmas? That’s what the film’s producers-distributors Warner Brothers are hoping for.

According to sources at Warner Wonder Woman 1984 will release on a whopping 2,000 screens across India in four languages (Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu) thereby providing the audience with ample temptation to get over their COVID anxieties.

This gives Disney-Hotstar reason to get anxious. Apparently, they’ve paid a larger price for David Dhawan’s Coolie No 1 than any other Indian feature film on the streaming platform in the hope of getting a massive captive audience during Christmas and New Years. But now with Wonder Woman 1984 competing with the father-son Dhawans, Disney-Hotstar has reason to worry.

Says a source in the loop, “Disney-Hotstar were definitely hoping to get the undivided attention of moviegoers for Coolie No 1. Now there is definitely competition for Christmas eyeballs.”
