The team of Mission Mangal – Bollywood’s first ever space mission film released its trailer today and has already started creating a buzz. Based on a true story, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen, and Sharman Joshi. The trailer has managed to produce a sense of awe and pride among viewers on social media.

Mission Mangal is an inspiring tale based on India's first mission to Mars, accomplished by Rakesh Dhawan and Tara Shinde and a team of scientists at India's Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The trailer shows that the audience is in for a dose of drama, fun, tear-jerking moments and ultimately coaxed into feeling a sense of pride and patriotism.

Talking about the film, Akshay Kumar, in a lengthy post on Twitter explained that he wanted to do the film to familiarise his daughter Nitara and future generations with the story of India's incredible mission to Mars. "I always wanted to be a part of the film that inspires future generations," he wrote in the post.

Much like Hollywood sci-fi films, the makers of the film backed by Balki and Akshay Kumar, and directed by Jagan Shakti, are hoping the film becomes a landmark in Indian cinema. It is meant to not only entertain but inspire. Set to release this Independence day Mission Mangal is presented by Fox Star Studios, produced by Cape of Good Films, Hope Productions and Fox Star Studios.
