As the world is struggling to find a cure for the dreaded coronavirus, a new threat is here.

After coronavirus , another virus called Hantavirus has been reported from China

A man from China's Yunnan province died from Hantavirus.


The man died while on a bus to the Shandong province.

All the 32 fellow passengers on the bus have been tested for the virus.

The world is under panic with another virus being spread and that too from China.

What is Hantavirus?

The Centre for Disease Control says that the virus is spread mainly from rodents.

Infection with any of the hantavirus can cause hantavirus disease in people.

Hantaviruses in the America are known as “New World” hantaviruses.


These viruses may cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS).

Other hantaviruses, known as “Old World” hantaviruses, are found mostly in Europe and Asia

It may cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).

The hantavirus case comes at a time when the world is still finding solutions to deadly coronavirus

The total count of those infected by novel coronavirus globally is nearing the 400,000 mark.


Scientists are yet to find a cure as global death toll has crossed the 16,500 mark.

As the news came,  hantavirus became one of the top trends on social media

However, hantavirus is not a new virus and has been infecting humans for decades.
