Railways and airlines have started taking bookings from 15 April

The decision came after clarification from the government on non extension of the lockdown.


Railway officials have confirmed that bookings are being done for 15 April onwards

Like railways, commercial airlines have also started taking bookings for domestic flyers.

The railways and airlines had cancelled all passenger services on 24th March till 14 april after the lockdown was announced.

9000 goods trains continued their services during the lockdown

After the bookings are open, travellers have started making reservations

Though railway and aviation ministry has not clarified how prevention of Covid-19 will be ensured

Railway officials have said that the passenger train services will resume gradually


There's a lot of confusion on how the railways and commercial airlines are going to identify urgent travellers

After 21 day lockdown when the railways resume services, large gatherings are feared

As the distancing factor will be hard to ensure in flights and trains, instructions for travellers are awaited

The COVID-19 count in the country has crossed 2000 and the continues to rise sharply

Experts say, that with the surging numbers travellers need to be judicious in making travel bookings

The authorities have opened the travel bookings but no advisory has been issued so far
