Rain has grabbed more headlines in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup than any match, as it has played a spoilsport throughout the tournament. India’s match against West Indies slated to take place on June 27 at the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester may get washed out.

Manchester has been continuously receiving drizzle and the weather had worsened on Tuesday. It rained throughout the day which forced the Men in Blue to practice indoor.

Local meteorological office in Manchester issued a warning before, forecasting heavy rains and flooding on Tuesday. But as good news for fans of Indian and West Indies the weather forecast for Thursday, looks good. According to the weather forecast, the next two days will be better and there will be no rain.

India is currently placed third on the points table of the tournament with four wins out of five fixtures. Match against New Zealand was washed out due to rain. Whereas, West Indies are placed eight on the table and are out of the tournament. They have won only one match and lost four out of six fixtures whereas one of their matches was also washed out due to rain.


Caribbean will be looking forward to giving some consolation to the people of their region as they are already out of the running and have nothing to lose. Men in Blue will look forward to win the match and seal the semi-final birth on Thursday itself.
