Elections in Uttar Pradesh is turning ‘Bull–ish’ literally as the stray cattle has found election meetings to settle their scores. They enter into the high security zones giving policemen a tough time in trapping them to take them away.

This happened at the Mahagathbandhan rally in Kannauj, during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s meeting in Shahjahanpur and Priyanka Gandhi’s road show in Barabanki in the last couple of days.

In Kannauj the bull entered into the rally on April 25 where people were waiting for Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav to address them. The entry of the stray bull would have led to a major stampede had the local police not managed to trap the animal in time.

“Few people received minor injuries but the situation was brought under control. The bull even chased a constable who anyhow managed to fee,” a senior police officer said and demanded that senior officers should issue an advisory in this regard.

Last Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath went to Shahjahanpur to address an election rally. As his chopper landed at the helipad and he came out to sit inside a vehicle, a stray bull suddenly entered into the high security zone. As the officers tried to chase away the stray bull, the CM boarded his SUV and the driver left the place in a hurry.

The incident invoked a small twitter war between former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the stray bull had come to give its memorandum but the poor police man faced the ire of the animal. When he realized that this was not the rally of the party which has turned him homeless he was pacified and left the place; he said when told how a stray bull entered the rally ground in Kannauj.

Chief Minister gave a reply: “In a rally in Kannauj I am told Nandi Baba showed his anger when he came to know that this election meeting is that of the party which supports butchers. He was pacified only when someone pleaded to let the Samajwadi Party be allowed to do its work.”

On April 27 another bull entered the road show of Congress national general secretary (east UP) Priyanka Gandhi in Barabanki. People ran helter skelter to save themselves from the ire of the bull. The animals created ruckus for almost 15 minutes before it was trapped and taken away.
