In what has become a tradition of sorts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Diwali by spending it with jawans in Uttarakhand. With each passing event, Modi’s jumlas are getting saucier and juicer. And of course, it goes without saying that they can never be proved, just like like bachelor’s degree from Delhi University.

While celebrating Diwali with jawans at Harsil, Uttarakhand, Modi said that being an RSS member, he had an opportunity to spend time with army men. He also stated that earlier governments played politics over One Rank One Pension (OROP) for army personnel and it was his government who fulfilled their dreams.

“As an RSS member, I got an opportunity to live among Army men. At that time I heard a lot about One Rank One Pension. Many govts came & left. Since, I was connected to you I understood your emotions. So, after becoming PM it was my responsibility to fulfill your dreams of OROP,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The claims of the Prime Minister have drawn strong criticism from Twitterati calling it another lie from him. The twitter users asked the PM to provide details regarding his days spent with the army. They also corrected Narendra Modi’s claims about the OROP stating that it has not yet been approved and retired army officials are still protesting at Jantar Mantar.
