Sourav Ganguly has finally begun his second innings as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from Wednesday. The cricket fraternity and fans are hopeful that former India captain will bring about some much-needed changes inside the Indian cricket board and the Indian dressing room.

As the news of Gangly taking over as BCCI President was out, Twiterati suggested that one of the first decisions the new BCCI chief should take is to get rid of Ravi Shastri as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team. It is believed that it will actually help the squad become a better side, and deal with the struggling middle order in limited-overs.

Sourav Ganguly and Shastri have shared tumultuous equation in the past.

In the year 2016, when Anil Kumble was brought in place of Ravi Shastri as the Head Coach, Ravi Shastri blamed Ganguly for the firing. And when Shastri was brought back as Head Coach after the disappointing World Cup 2019 exit, Ganguly said that Shastri was the only option for the post because not many people actually had applied.

Ravi Shastri is yet to react on Ganguly’s appointment as BCCI chief. However, Ganguly shared a small laugh at the Indian head coach's cost when he returned to his hometown a few days back.

“Have you spoken with Ravi Shastri?” asked one of the reporters, to which Ganguly replied saying, “Why? What has he done now?” with a chuckle.

Adding to all of this, during the third and final Test between India and South Africa, Ravi Shastri, the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team was found taking a nap in the stands which was made fun of on various social media platforms.
