Hyderabad bar dancer attacked for refusing to perform sexual favours for customers

A female bar dancer was allegedly stripped and thrashed by her co-workers in Hyderabad for refusing to perform sexual favours to customers. She was beaten up by five of her co-workers, four female and one male co-worker.

The Panjagutta police arrested four of the five accused in the case. The man has not been nabbed by the police and has been on the run since the crime. Police sources said that efforts are on to arrest him.

The victim filed a complaint with the police. She said that she had joined the bar which is situated in Begumpet a few months ago and alleged that the management harassed her to extend sexual favours to customers. They stripped and attacked her when she refused.


"Recently, the management of the bar started asking her to visit customers and perform sexual activities with them," the police in Panjagutta said according to media reports.

The accused have been booked for assault on woman with intent to outrage her modesty, for criminal intimidation and for voluntarily causing hurt.

Following the incident, Director General of Police (DGP) Telangana Mahender Reddy has sought a detailed report of the incident.
