Bihar Assembly Elections: London based Pushpam Priya Choudhary to contest as Chief Ministerial candidate

The daughter of the former Janata Dal-United MLC Vinod Chaudhary, Pushpam Priya Choudhary has announced herself as the candidate for the Chief Minister’s post for the upcoming Assembly election in Bihar.

Choudhary hails from Darbhanga, Bihar and lives in London. She has announced her candidature in a full-page advertisement which appeared in several Hindi and English newspapers in Bihar on Sunday.

The full page advertisement mentioned Choudhary as the President of Plurals (Choudhary’s party), and the chief ministerial candidate of Bihar.

Responding to the development, Janata Dal (United) leader Vinod Choudhary said, “She is adult and educated, this is her decision. The party will, of course, not support it if she is challenging top leader of the party.”

Currently, the BJP-JDU-LJP coalition, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is governing Bihar.
