Even as the Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record fourth time on Monday afternoon, the main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) boycotted the oath taking ceremony.

Saying that Nitish Kumar becoming Chief Minister is against the mandate, the RJD said that the people of the state are angry with NDA.

“The mandate for change is against the NDA. The people’s mandate (for change) has been changed into the mandate for rule. Ask unemployed youths, farmers, teachers how they feel. People are angry with the NDA for the fraud that they committed. We represent people and we stand by them,” said the RJD.

Dubbing the JDU-BJP government as a ‘majboor sarkar’ (weak government) the RJD which won 75 seats in 243 member Bihar assembly called Nitish Kumar a “powerless CM” and BJP “a faceless propogandist” party.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Manoj Jha said Nitish becoming the chief minister is against the mandate. “How can someone become Chief Minister after getting 40 seats?” questioned Jha.

Saying that Nitish Kumar government won’t last for long, Jha added, “People’s mandate is against him; he is decimated and should decide on it. Bihar will find its alternative, which will be spontaneous. It might take a week, ten days, or a month but it will happen.”

“They don’t have any alternative but to comply. With around 40 seats, he (Nitish Kumar) is dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister of Bihar. BJP has the “script” to that dream. Just wait and watch what all will unfold in Bihar,” Jha was quoted as saying by the media.
