Blankets are washed on monthly basis in Rajdhani Express, reveals an RTI response

The blankets in prestigious trains like Rajdhani or Shatabdi Express are washed on a monthly basis, reported Deccan Herald.

According to an RTI response to activist Jatin Desai, Shamkant Mohite, APIO and Assistant Divisional Manager (C&W), Mumbai Central communicated that all linen items are washed after every use. However, blankets are washed on a monthly basis.

The response also stated that fresh bedrolls are given to the travellers every time

"The precaution is all the more important as there is a fear of coronavirus," Desai said.
