Books on  Majrooh Sultanpuri, legendary poet and lyricist presented to President of India

Two books in Hindi and Urdu on legendary poet and lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri presented to President of India in Rashtrapati Bhawan.

The books are researched and compiled by Asif Azmi under the aegis of Majlis Fakhr-e-Bahrain. These books are considered as first step dedicated to Centenary year of Majrooh sahib starting from October 1, 2019.

A six member delegation led by MP, Advocate and Poet Majeed Memon and comprised of Author Asif Azmi, Majlis’s head Shakeel Ahmad Sabrahadi, Prof. Jitendra Srivastva (IGNOU), Prof. Shafey Kidwai (AMU) and Zunaira Ambreen (Publisher) met the President of India exclusively for the book presentation.

Majeed Memon said that it is a good gesture on part of the President to acknowledge the literature, art and culture.

He said that the president expressed his greetings for this exemplary work specially the translation of book into Hindi script.
