As the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls come closer, political parties are gearing up to fight one of the most crucial political battles in the country with all their might.

With an aim to energize the party cadre and to take stock of the situation, Congress general secretary in charge of UP Priyanka Gandhi will visit Lucknow on July 16 and will remain in the city for three days – from July 16 to 19.

According to a source, Priyanka Gandhi will meet party leaders, office bearers of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, farmers and unemployed youths of the state fighting recruitment irregularities and delay in appointment during her stay in the city.

She is also likely to shift to Lucknow soon.

“Didi (Priyanka Gandhi) will meet family members of those who died of the Coronavirus pandemic also,” said the source.

“Making of manifesto for the UP assembly polls will also be discussed,” said the source.

This will be the first physical meeting of the Congress general secretary with party leaders after the second wave of the pandemic ravaged the state.

On Monday, Priyanka Gandhi had met with the advisory council and expressed concern over large scale violence in recently held Block Parmukh elections in UP.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress has attacked the Yogi government for unleashing violence and terror in the state during the local body polls.
