Congress leader Sushmita Dev, President, All India Mahila Congress slammed the Yogi government, mentioning that after instances like Chinmayanand case, Unnao, and many other cases of violence and harassment of women and minorities; Yogi government does not have a right to sponsor Devi Awards, an event that honours women.

Devi Awards, ie, Women's awards for dynamism & innovation, is a definitive event called
Devi, organised by The New Indian Express, which recognises and honours exceptional women across sectors who display dynamism and innovation in their line of work.
They've organised 17 editions of Devi Awards so far.

Herself a receiver of the Devi Award, Sushmita Dev pointed out rightly that one should not condone the Yogi Government being sponsors of the event when they let no women in their state feel safe. As Congress recently pointed out, with a total of 3,457 cases of rapes against children registered and only 22 (about 3 percent) disposed of, Uttar Pradesh is becoming infamous for being unsafe.

On Daughter’s day, Sushmita Dev was disappointed with the sponsorship of Devi Awards, and said ‘The Morning Standard should shed Yogi Adityanath & UP govt. as their sponsor for women awards until the daughters of UP get justice,’ tweets Sushmita Dev on Daughters Day

She tweeted: “Is this a joke on the daughters of the country on #DaughtersDay

@TheMornStandard should shed @myogiadityanath & UP govt. as their sponsor for women awards until the daughters of UP get justice.

I was one of the Devi awardees & today I am disappointed.”
