In a press conference in Bengaluru on Thursday May 10 morning, the last day of campaigning for the Karnataka assembly elections on May 12, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said Karnataka assembly elections are only about Karnataka and not about 'my future or Modi'.

Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of diverting attention away from the important issues of the country, spreading hatred among people, keeping silent on the atrocities and attacks on Dalits and women and on youth unemployment.

The Congress President answered media queries on a wide range of issues. On the question that the Prime Minister is constantly attacking him, Rahul said, "The kind of personal attacks made by the Prime Minister, do they suit a person sitting in a high constitutional post? I asked them questions, in response they made personal attacks. What level of politics is this?"

Rahul Gandhi asked, "Why is the Prime Minister silent on the issue of Dalits? Why does he not speak when Dalits were beaten up in Una. Even when Rohit Vemula was killed, the Prime Minister did not say anything. We will raise issues of Dalits. This is our job."

Rahul said these assembly elections are neither for the prime minister nor for any particular person, but for Karnataka, ‘I believe that talking about this issue is cheating the people of Karnataka. The Prime Minister does not talk about farmers of Karnataka, unemployment, IT City, Garden City. He only does personal attacks”

On Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to China and on the issue of Doklam, Rahul said, "The PM went to China without any agenda. He dined with the President and the Prime Minister, but did not say a word about Doklam. Modi is using foreign policy to serve his own ends."

Rahul Gandhi also attacked PM Modi and the central government on the issue of unemployment. He said, "Modi ji speaks on many issues but he does not speak about youth, does not talk about promised two crore jobs."

On BJP making an issue about his visiting temples and maths, Rahul said he has been going to temples and maths for years. "Actually BJP does not understand the meaning of being Hindu, that is why it makes this an issue. After all, why does the BJP have problems with going to my temple? "

Rahul said these assembly elections are neither for the prime minister nor for any particular person, but for Karnataka, 'I believe that talking about this issue is cheating the people of Karnataka. The Prime Minister does not talk about farmers of Karnataka, unemployment, IT City, Garden City. He only does personal attacks."
