Criminals do not seem to fear the police in UP anymore. A policeman was crushed under the wheels of a tractor trolley by criminals involved in illegal sand mining in the Khairagarh area of Agra district on Sunday morning.

Superintendent of police (City) Rohan Pramod said that the criminals crushed police constable Sonu Kumar Choudhury under the wheels of their tractor trolley, laden with sand near Bara Nagla village.

After the incident, the criminals opened fire to scare the people who wanted to chase them.

There were around 5 to 6 tractor trolleys, laden with illegal sand coming from Rajasthan.

Seven policemen of Saiya Police Station led by Sub-Inspector Amit Kumar tried to stop them when one of the drivers of the tractor trolley crushed Sonu. He died on the spot.

The SP said efforts were on to nab the culprits. The deceased police constable Sonu, was a native of Aligarh and joined the state police force in 2018. He was recently married.
