In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, a village development officer has committed suicide by hanging himself in Kumbhi village of Lakhimpur Kheri district due to pressure fromKisan Union leader and 2 village heads. The village development officer who committed suicide is named Trivendra Kumar and was a resident of Mau district, reported Rajasthan Patrika

The suicide note has been found in the pocket of the deceased Trivendra Kumar, which mentions the harassment by two heads and the leader of the farmers union. In the suicide note, he goes on to mention that he is made fun of at block office. He is constantly abused and statements are made against reservation. He said that if anything happens to me that leader of Kisan Union and two village heads will be responsible for it.

A video is also going viral on social media in which the leaders of Kisan Union, Rakesh Kumar Singh and Shyam Shukla can be seen and Kumar is seen being humiliated on the stage.

During a Kisan Panchayat held recently in Amin Nagar of Kumbhi block of Lakhimpur Kheri district, a meeting was going on under the leadership of State President Rakesh Kumar Singh and District President Shyam Shukla of Kisan Union. During the panchayat, the leaders of the Kisan Union called the village development officer of the area, Trivendra Kumar on the stage and humiliated him publicly.


Due to all this humiliation Kumar allegedly committed suicide.

After the incident came to light, the village development officials, who were angry about their colleague's suicide after being harassed by the village head and the leader of the farmers union, announced a strike and said that the strike will continue till the deceased village development officer gets justice.
