The role of Delhi police came under the scanner once again as the national capital burnt and the ‘watchdogs’ were seen watching standing still when the protest against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act took a violent turn in Delhi. On Sunday night the stone-pelting and clashes broke out between anti and pro-CAA groups at Maujpur in east Delhi and in less than 24 hours, northeast Delhi was engulfed in brutal violence on Monday and subsequently, five people, including a head constable, were killed and around 50 were injured in the incident.

The death toll in the northeast Delhi violence rose to 10 on Tuesday evening with as many as 150 injured.

This time, in many videos posted on social media, the pro-CAA supporters were seen throwing stones while chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and the policemen deployed there were seen standing, watching the goons spreading brutality but they didn’t take any action.

In many other videos, the police can be clearly seen involved in the agitation and even guiding the crowd to attack.
