Dwayne Johnson, Hollywood actor, and former World Wrestling Entertainment star has once again become a victim of a death hoax.

This is not new, celebrities being targeted through death hoaxes has happened in the past as well. Several fake news stories about celebrities including Hindi film industry passing away have been circulated in the past.

A report appeared on the internet on Wednesday, claiming that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson died after a failed stunt. The report carried the following headline, “BBC: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Dies at 47 after a terrible stunt attempted failed.” It had used British Broadcasting Corporation label to appear as an authentic news organisation.

Many people and fans shared the story on the various social media platform. Twitter users even asked Johnson to confirm. However, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has not yet responded to this fake news but updated his Instagram account with a photo of his upcoming Under Armour campaign.

This proves that Johnson is alive and perfectly fine. This is not the first time that it happened with Johnson. The former WWE star was targeted with the same kind of rumour report in 2011. Later, Jhonson had debunked death hoax in 2011 on Facebook. In 2014, a similar hoax claimed that the actor had died while shooting a stunt for Fast and Furious 7 which too apparently turned out to be fake.
